HOPE---He Offers Peace Exceedingly!!!!!

I got home from visiting Vera around 5:30pm. I was able to spend some quiet time with David and share with him the acronym for HOPE that God gave me a while back----HE OFFERS PEACE EXCEEDINGLY!!!! Hope is a special gift God gives His children. It allows the freedom to rest. I know this has lifted my heart when I needed it most. Dave said he has been encouraged by the positive words people keep sending to him. He is really depending on the strength of others as he walks this journey. Lori was visited by Pastor Campbell, Stephanie (sister-in-law), Dave and her mom today. I know she is so thankful for everyone's love and support. My mom visited Vera one last time before she headed back to TN today.

Vera's cooling process ended early this morning, and she was officially warmed up by 8:15am. It was nice to see her whole face/head. She looks like she has dark, curly hair. But, the curls could have been from all the goop that was in her hair;) Either way, she was very cute. Today, her heart was strong and stable, she is still tolerating the lowering of oxygen on her vent (down to 31% from 40%), and her urine output is normal. Her pupils are sluggish, but reacting. All good and encouraging signs. Our little Vera is fighting--we need to keep praying for her strength!!!

When I left today, the nurses were taking Vera down to have a MRI done. Later she was to have a 12 lead EEG. Her doctor said this will give them a better idea of how Vera's brain is doing. Still, the tests are NOT conclusive and there is a waiting period. So, we continue to wait for the GREAT PHYSICIAN to "do His will and His great pleasure," Ephesians 1:3-14.

Just to clarify, Lisa Bergey is coordinating meals and collecting gift cards (such as: Giant, Walmart, Target, Redner's, VISA, WAWA, gas cards, or cards for a local eatery) from people at Bethel Baptist Church (754 East Rockhill Rd., Sellersville, PA 18960). For those who don't go to Bethel, you can either send gift cards to me or send a gift in C/O Bethel Baptist for David and Lori. We will make sure all gifts get to them. Thank you for your continued prayers and help with everything. We love you all!

  3. Hi Joy,

My husband, Matt, and I were friends with Dave at CCC. We just wanted to let you know (and if you can share with Dave and Lori) that we have been praying for them ALOT the last few days. We have been so moved by what has happened and believe they will be healed. Your updates have been SO encouraging. We thank God that they have such as amazing sister. We are also praying for your family and your gorgeous son Isaiah. What a testimony of HOPE and faith. Words cannot explain how the Lord has used your family's testimony to bring us closer to Him. Please tell them the Van Kleecks love them and are praying for them.
